I Got the Yips

Will Remains Writing for September 2025

"I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.”

Greetings from the 12th Floor, where life really needs to calm the f down.

August was supposed to be my shirk month, but that spilled over into September. Blame my job - my boss accepted an internal transfer out of the blue, leaving a smidgen of chaos in her wake - and some unintentionally poor planning on my part, as a house project that should have taken one weekend, instead ate up four.

I am definitely out of the groove. I have a plan to get my groove back, but this morning I woke up to find that someone had sideswiped my car during the night, leaving a long dent from fender to fender and a flat front tire, and I would like the address of the office where we go to give up. If I quit, someone has to accept my resignation, right?

I’ll be back next month with more of something.

Monthly Posts
The month wasn’t a total loss. I have some panel discussions lined up in November, and that’s not nothing.

A Parting Song
I followed all the rules, I showed up everyday
Could you explain to me what's making me this way?
I hope to god, I won't pass it on to my kids
I want to quit, I want to quit, I want to quit

I got the yips.
